September 30th marked the celebration of Polish Armed Forces Day. Polish Minister of Defense Bogdan Klich was on hand at a reception at the Polish Embassy in D.C. to congratulate the Polish military on their accomplishments during this difficult year:
"During this trying time in our country, the Polish military has shone as a beacon of reliability and stability. ... Let me just add that my conversation today with U.S. Secretary of defense Bob Gates was especially productive, confirming that the military cooperation between our countries is a key for the benefit of both states."
Afterwards, members of the American-Polish Forum presented Polish Defense Minister Klich with a framed picture of our group in front of the 2,000 assembled care packages we sent to Polish troops in Afghanistan last year.
